Waste Management Performance
During the current reporting year, Andijan State Technical Institute generated a total of 164 tons of paper and plastic waste, comprising 84 tons of plastic and 80 tons of paper. Compared with the previous year, total waste generation decreased by 34 tons, representing an overall reduction of 17.2%.
This achievement reflects the successful implementation of the university's comprehensive 3R (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) Program. Key initiatives include digital transformation of administrative processes, reduction of single-use plastics, promotion of reusable materials, double-sided printing, installation of waste segregation facilities, recycling partnerships and continuous environmental awareness campaigns.
These measures not only reduce landfill waste and improve recycling performance, but also strengthen the university's commitment to SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production and SDG 13 – Climate Action. The institute continues expanding sustainable waste management practices through resource efficiency, environmental education, circular economy initiatives and campus-wide participation of students, academic staff and administrative employees.
