3R Program — Reduce, Reuse & Recycle

Andijan State Technical Institute actively implements a comprehensive 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) program to reduce waste, promote efficient resource use, and embed sustainable habits across campus.

On-site Waste Containers

  • Plastic recycling: Dedicated containers across campus.
  • Waste paper: Separate containers for paper collection.
  • Non-recyclable waste: Important dedicated containers for general refuse.
  • Glass & aluminum: Rarely generated on-site, therefore no separate bins installed.
  • E-waste: Special handling in progress — cannot be disposed of with regular garbage.

Reduce — Minimizing Paper Usage

An electronic document management system has been rolled out across 100% of departments, replacing traditional paper workflows. Staff and students now send, store, and manage documents digitally, reducing paper dependency and streamlining administrative processes.

Reuse — Promoting Resource Consciousness

All departments ( 100% coverage ) are participating in reuse initiatives: encouraging double-sided printing when necessary, repurposing materials, and using reusable bags instead of single-use plastic.

Recycle — Sorting & Diverting Waste

Waste-sorting systems are in place campus-wide, with 35% of departments fully implementing them. Separated recyclables (plastic bottles, paper) are sold to local recycling companies and processed via municipal recycling facilities to support the circular economy.
