Campus Sustainability Structures

• Campus Sustainability Office – Many universities have a dedicated office or unit focused on sustainability efforts, such as energy conservation, waste reduction, and promoting green initiatives.
• Facilities Management or Operations – This department may handle environmental policies, energy usage, and building sustainability practices.
• Environmental or Green Committees – Some institutions have committees or task forces that coordinate sustainability initiatives across campus.
• Student-led Sustainability Groups – Many campuses have student organizations that focus on promoting sustainability, organizing events, and running eco-friendly projects.

Support for SDGs Implementation

Public and political support is required in the new democratic Indonesian period for policies and programs to be implemented effectively and accomplish the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Universities strategically contribute to the increased legitimacy of these policies by conducting thorough, independent research.

The goal of Universitas Padjadjaran's Center for Sustainable Development Goals Studies (SDGs Center) is to strategically assist Indonesia in achieving the SDGs by 2030. The SDGs Center serves as a venue for interdisciplinary study on SDGs at the local, national, and international levels. It facilitates sharing research findings connected to the SDGs among the institution and its partners. Additionally, it strengthens capacity building so that national and local policymakers, as well as the academic community, can conduct SDGs-related research and initiatives.
